How do I setup my Email Software to send and receive email from my domain?

Step by Step instructions for the following email programs:
Outlook Express | Netscape | Eudora

Standard Settings:
          •POP3 Server: mail.yourdomain.com
          •Account / Username: username@yourdomain.com (Outlook)
                                             : username%yourdomain.com (Netscape)
                                             : username@yourdomain.com (Eudora)
                                             : username                            (Budget hosting plan)
•SMTP Server: Your ISP's SMTP mail server goes here. Please setup your email software as described above.

If you have trouble sending email via your ISP's smtp server, please check that you have the correct smtp server name and that you have followed their directions for the smtp portion of the setup.
If you find you are unable to use your ISP's smtp server for some reason, we do have the following options:

1. Contact us about our WebMail messaging server infoDHS@designsinmotion.net
[Only available for Standard Hosting accounts or Higher]
If you are familiar with Hotmail, YahooMail! or any of the other popular web-based email services, "DIMS Hosting Services?"'s mail server offers many of the same features. You can now send and receive email from your account using any standard web browser, anytime, anywhere (even while traveling).

2. Use SMTP AUTHENTICATION with "DIMS Hosting Services?"'s mail server
[Only available for Standard Hosting accounts or Higher]
This setup uses your email address and password to enable mail relay from our mail server. Make sure you have your software configured as above and then follow these instructions to change to smtp authentication. If prompted, use your full email address and email password to authenticate.
*Please note: You will not be able to use this option if your ISP is blocking port 25. This is the universal port for sending email through the internet. Many ISP's are blocking this port for security reasons which forces you to use their SMTP mail server.

For Outlook, under TOOLS -> ACCOUNTS. Select your email account and click on the PROPERTIES button. Under the SERVERS tab, check the option:
'My server requires authentication'. Click OK and exit the email accounts settings.

For Netscape 4.05, under EDIT -> PREFERENCES. Select MAIL & GROUPS -> MAIL SERVER
In the MAIL SERVER USERNAME field type: username%yourdomain.com

For Netscape 4.5, under EDIT -> PREFERENCES. MAIL & NEWSGROUPS -> MAIL SERVERS
In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server field type: mail.yourdomain.com
In the Outgoing mail server user name field type: username%yourdomain.com

For Eudora 5, under TOOLS -> OPTIONS. Select GETTING STARTED from the left menu.

Under the heading 'SMTP Server (Outgoing)' make sure that you have 'mail.yourdomain.com' and also check the box that reads: 'Allow authentication'.

Feel free to give it a try. We have successfully tested this with Netscape 4.05, Netscape 4.5, Outlook Express, Outlook '98 and Outlook 2000. Sorry, it is not supported in older e-mail programs such as Eudora 3.0 and Netscape 3.0. If you are not using a supported e-mail client, or if you are having difficulty configuring SMTP Authentication, you still have the less complicated options of using your dial-up ISP's SMTP server or our Webmail service for sending outgoing mail.
